CCBA Website Gets In Shape
I have been providing graphic design services for the CCBA, a community recreation and fitness facility, since 1998. This spring I worked with Membership/Marketing Director Barbara Parker to launch a new and improved website.
The Witherell Recreation Center (formerly known as the Carter Community Building Association, but still referred to as the CCBA) is a local non-profit fitness facility. They are one of those operations that cares about the community – you can read more about their mission and history here.
The CCBA offers fun, affordable programs for all ages. They even offer free community events throughout the year. In addition to a fresh new look, they wanted their website redesign to be mobile friendly, responsive, and easier to navigate with a restructured architecture. They also have schedules that needed to be uploaded easily by staff members.
My almost 20-year professional relationship with the CCBA has provided the foundation of knowing who they are, what they do, and how they do it, which helped in creating the look and feel of the website. I worked with Barbara Parker to design and develop a website in Wordpress, which is a content management system that allows the lay-person to make changes to the content of a website. The website has a blog, a current events area, membership information, and details about the programs. Schedules and forms for view, print or download are uploaded by a staff member.
I have truly enjoyed working with the CCBA over the years. My husband grew up playing basketball in the Carter Community Building after school. They are a real asset to the community, and now community members will have a better experience when visiting their website.
